I'm a big fan of stories that take place in Ireland, and this author really nailed the dialogue so well that I could actually hear the Irish lilt that I love so much. Yes, the characters are great and most readers will fall in love with the O'Rifcan family. . .I did. However, the story itself was such a let down. It was 365 pages that slowly led up to almost nothing.This book is supposed to be Claron and Rhea's story, but it abruptly ends with just a hint or an assumption that they will be together. Too dull to even call this a cliffhanger ending, and it's necessary to purchase the next book to see where their relationship goes. Although this is kind of sweet, it's a bit too slow for me to continue with this series.Disappointed because there's no actual ending. 😴😤 Ireland has always tugged at my soul. I love the deep history of the land, its people, and the ancient castles and lore. When reading Claron, at times I actually felt as though I were walking the countryside, or gazing out at the vast sea and coastline. There are moments when the story takes you into a pub filled with friends and family, and the rollicking good craic for which the Irish are known. I can’t say enough about the author’s wonderful talent for painting an authentic scene, right down to the dialect!The romance is slow and sweet. Rhea, a young woman betrayed by a man she thought the love of her life, seeks time away to mend a broken heart by visiting her grandfather in Ireland. She is welcomed with open arms into the O’Rifcan family home, a quaint B&B, and there meets Claron, one of the O’Rifcan brothers who has suffered through heartbreaking infidelity by a past love. When the two come together, love blooms like the gradual unfolding of a flower in spring.This story brought to me a wonderful, heartwarming sense of family and the true meaning of a solid foundation for relationships. I truly believe we can all use some of that in our lives.Well worth your time to read this one.
